Vegas Golden Knights' Best Trade Of The Past Year

The Vegas Golden Knights haven't made any huge trades over the past year once they acquired Jack Eichel in 2021. What they have done is made a series of decent trades to alter their team and set themselves up for success. A couple of moves were questionable and they continue to sit right at the salary cap each season. But the trade that is their best came before the season at an integral time.

The Golden Knights had found out that Robin Lehner would miss the entire season due to injury and Laurent Brossoit would start the season on the injured reserve. That left Vegas with just rookie Logan Thompson who had just 17 NHL starts before this season. Though he had good stats, he is also inexperienced and young. The Golden Knights didn't want to put their season at risk by having no other options. This caused them to acquire Adin Hill from the San Jose Sharks.

Hill is more experienced and still young, giving the Golden Knights a good second goalie who can back up or even start if need be. He only cost Vegas a fourth round pick in 2024 as the Sharks chose the wrong goalie to get rid of. Hill has had a strong season as the backup/1b goaltender behind Thompson and has been the number one when the rookie has been injured.
