Kaapo Kakko Wants More From New York Rangers

The New York Rangers were eliminated in seven games by the New Jersey Devils and now head into an offseason that's filled with uncertainty. The team has a number of pending free agents and a number of young roster players who are looking for bigger roles next season. From the sounds of it, you can put Kaapo Kakko at the top of this list as the young forward had some interesting parting words to the media.

The 22-year-old former second-overall pick registered 40 points in 82 games this season, including 18 goals. Kakko however didn't receive hardly any power-play time as he only averaged 53 seconds a game. Meanwhile for comparison sake, Artemi Panarin led the Rangers with 3:35 with the man advantage.

The Rangers are likely going to make sweeping changes to their coaching staff this summer so for Kakko's sake, let's hope the next bench boss on Broadway will give him more opportunity in the top six. Or else, it sounds like another young forward in New York will want out.
