NHL Rumors: 2 Teams to Target Frederik Andersen this Offseason

It has come to that time of year when we look more in-depth at a player's potential offseason destination.
Frederik Andersen has been the starting goalie for the Carolina Hurricanes for the past two seasons. However, now the Hurricanes have a tough choice to make, the organization is very high on Pyotr Kochetkov and would like to promote him to the NHL as an everyday goalie. Due to that, it seems that Andersen's time in Carolina is coming to an end. So, let's take a look at a few teams that could be interested in Andersen.

Los Angeles Kings

The LA Kings are a team that seems to be held back by goaltending. They have the pieces up front and on the back end that helps them make the playoffs but when it comes down to a seven games series, it seems their goalies struggle. There are a few goalies that they could target this offseason, one being Korpisalo, who they traded for at the deadline. But another option is Andresen, he has overcome the past playoff struggles that he had with the Maple Leafs and could be the starting goalie that the Kings need to finally get past the Oilers in the first round.

Vegas Golden Knights

The Vegas Golden Knights are a contender, they will be for the next handful of years and are doing so on the back of questionable goaltending, Adin Hill, and Laurent Brossoit are the two that have gotten them to the Stanley Cup Finals. But can they rely on this every season? No, of course not. Now, they do have Logan Thompson who will most likely be a mainstay in the Golden Knights' net for years to come. But we all know how Vegas works, they tend to be a bit 'cutthroat' and will do anything to win. So, it wouldn't be shocking if they do have some discussions with Andersen if he tests the open market to help increase their chances at yet another Cup Finals visit next season.
