Philadelphia Flyers Rumors: Star Forward Becoming Trade Candidate

The Philadelphia Flyers are set to begin a legitimate rebuild under their new management. As a result of this, star forward Travis Konecny is starting to emerge as a trade candidate.

Konecny is the Flyers' top trading asset right now, and they would receive a big return for him because of it. The skilled winger carries an affordable $5.5 million cap hit until the completion of the 2024-25 season, and he has zero trade protection. Therefore, the Flyers would be able to accept the best offer for him - no matter the club.

Konecny should receive a plethora of interest this offseason, and the Flyers would be wise to consider moving him while his value is at its highest. The 26-year-old just put together a very strong season, as he had 31 goals to go along with 61 points in 60 games played.

Nevertheless, we will need to wait and see if the Flyers decide to move the 2015 first-round pick from here. Some teams to watch in the sweepstakes include the Detroit Red Wings, Seattle Kraken, and Calgary Flames.
