Pittsburgh Penguins Rumors: Veteran Goalie Becoming Possible Trade Target

After a disappointing 2022-23 season, the Pittsburgh Penguins are expected to make a change in net. Tristan Jarry struggled and is a pending UFA, so he is likely to walk. As a result, there have been questions about who the Penguins could target this summer, and Dave Molinari of Pittsburgh Hockey Now brought up the prospect of the club bringing back Marc-Andre Fleury.

Fleury has made it known that he does not want to move his family to a different city again. Yet, when noting that Fleury will forever be remembered most as a Penguin, perhaps he would be willing to change his mind in that specific scenario.

The Minnesota Wild are also likely open to the idea of moving Fleury. They have extremely limited cap space because of the Zach Parise and Ryan Suter buyout penalties, and Filip Gustavsson has shown that he can be a legitimate number-one goalie in this league. Thus, perhaps a move could make sense for all parties involved.

Nevertheless, we will need to wait and see if the Penguins make a push to bring back the future Hall of Famer for one last season.
