Washington Capitals Rumors: Forward Popping Up In Trade Talks

Since the Washington Capitals made a significant trade with the Detroit Red Wings to acquire Anthony Mantha a few years ago, the 28-year-old winger has failed to live up to expectations.

This past season was particularly underwhelming for him, as he managed to score only 11 goals and tally 27 points across 67 games.

It's evident that Mantha has struggled to replicate the impressive numbers he achieved during his time in Detroit, and he has experienced two of the worst seasons in his eight-year career since joining the Capitals.

In total, he has contributed just 24 goals and 58 points over 118 games with Washington, compared to the 95 goals and 194 points over 302 games with Detroit.

These disappointing performances raise concerns about his long-term fit with the team and have led to discussions about the possibility of a trade, however, they likely won't get much of a return for him right now. Photo Credit:  Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports
