NHL Rumors: 3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations for Milan Lucic

Milan Lucic is set to hit the free-agent market this offseason. Although the veteran forward's offensive production has dropped significantly over the years, he is still an effective fourth-liner because of his extremely physical style of play. This, in turn, should lead to him receiving interest this summer. Let's go over three clubs that could be in the mix for his services.

Boston Bruins: The Boston Bruins reportedly considered bringing back Lucic before the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline passed but went in a different direction. When noting that the former Bruin can now be had at a muchcheaper price, it is likely something that GM Don Sweeney considers again. With that, Boston has several bottom-six forwards ready to hit the free-agent market.

Vancouver Canucks: There may have been some very bad blood between Lucic and the Vancouver Canucks after the 2011 Stanley Cup Final, but it appears that the veteran is willing to look past it. The Vancouver native recently told Don Taylor and Rick Dhaliwal that he would definitely listen to what the Canucks had to say this summer, noting that he would be open to playing for his hometown club.

New Jersey Devils: The New Jersey Devils could use a bit more toughness in their bottom six, so they could look at Lucic as a possible free-agent option. This is especially so when noting that they could lose Miles Wood to free agency this summer. Lucic would give their young squad a veteran who has a Stanley Cup on their resume as well.
