Seattle Kraken Rumors: Defenseman Becoming Trade Candidate

Trading season is back on in the NHL. We should see several players moved during these next handful of weeks. According to NHL insider Frank Seravalli, a new trade candidate has emerged in Seattle Kraken defenseman Will Borgen.

Borgen is a defenseman who certainly should grab some attention around the league. The 6-foot-3 d-man is coming off of a breakout season that saw him set an array of new career highs. In 82 games, he posted three goals, 17 assists, 20 points, and a plus-11 rating. With that, he also made a notable difference with his physicality, recording 203 hits.

When noting that Borgen improved his game in all aspects this season, it makes sense that several teams are interested in acquiring him. The 26-year-old has become a solid bottom-pairing shutdown defenseman who can chip in offensively, so the Kraken could surely get a nice return for him.

We will need to wait and see if Borgen gets dealt from here. Some teams to pay attention include the Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings, Ottawa Senators, Calgary Flames, and Boston Bruins.
