Trade Alert: Dallas Stars Swing Deal With Colorado Avalanche

The Colorado Avalanche have added a little forward depth to the organization, acquiring 27-year-old Swedish left winger Fredrik Olofsson from the Dallas Stars.

The Stars receive future considerations in return from the Avs. Olofsson was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st, but immediately signed a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 with Colorado upon completion of the trade.

The 6'2", 190-pound forward, who played 28 games in his rookie NHL season with Dallas this year (1 goal, 3 assists, 10:12 TOI), was on a regular roller coaster ride between Dallas and their AHL affiliate, the Texas Stars. In fact, per Cap Friendly, it's the 22nd transaction for Olofsson this season.

He tallied 14 points (5 goals, 9 assists) and a +11 rating in 37 regular-season contests with the Stars' AHL squad.

His only goal with Dallas was a game-winner, on Dec. 31st vs. the San Jose Sharks.

Olofsson was originally selected by Chicago in the fourth round (98th overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft.
