Boston Bruins & Trent Frederic Set Arbitration Filing Numbers

Boston Bruins forward Trent Frederic's arbitration hearing is set for August 1. According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, Frederic has filed for a one-year, $2.9 million contract, while the Bruins filed for a two-year, $2.8 million contract ($1.4 million AAV).

The Bruins and Frederic have very differing asking prices, but that was expected. The Bruins have put down a low offer because their salary cap trouble, while Frederic is looking for a notable raise after his breakout campaign in 2022-23.

Frederic had a strong 2022-23 season, and that is made apparent by his stats. Appearing in 79 games, the 25-year-old forward posted new career highs in goals (17), assists (14), and points (31). It was a big year from the former first-rounder, and he is looking for his payday because of it.

Time will tell what kind of deal Frederic lands in arbitration. The Bruins will be hoping that the final decision favors them because of their limited cap space, but Frederic's solid season will help his chances of securing a nice deal.
