Carolina Hurricanes Rumors: New Team Linked to Brett Pesce

Brett Pesce is one of the most notable defensemen on the trade market right now, and teams like the Edmonton Oilers and Buffalo Sabres have been connected to him. Yet, it appears a new team has entered the mix, as The Fourth Period is reporting that the Nashville Predators are now linked to him.

The Predators have made some big changes to their roster this summer. They moved on from Matt Duchene and Ryan Johansen, while bringing in Ryan O'Reilly, Gustav Nyquist, and Luke Schenn. It is clear that the Predators are looking to stay competitive, and bringing in a top-four defenseman like Pesce would be a way to help improve their chances of doing so.

Pesce has emerged as an excellent shutdown defenseman over the years, and he would be a major addition to Nashville's roster because of it. In fact, he would immediately become their top right-shot defenseman.

In 82 games this past season with the Hurricanes, Pesce posted five goals, 30 points, and a plus-11 rating.

Let's see if Nashville ends up bringing in the 28-year-old from here.
