Sabres Rumors: Buffalo Looking to Lock Up Owen Power

According to Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News, the Buffalo Sabres are trying to sign Owen Power to a long-term contract extension.

Power is entering the final season of his entry-level contract, and he is due for a nice raise. The 20-year-
old performed very well during his first full season with the Sabres, as he posted four goals, 35 points, and a plus-10 rating. Overall, the 2021 first-overall pick came as advertised, and now he will be aiming to build off of his solid campaign during the 2023-24 season.

The Sabres clearly have a lot of confidence in Power's development if they are already looking to ink him to a long-term contract. It is understandable, as many believe that he has the tools to emerge as a top-pairing defenseman, and he has already shown signs of it.

We will need to wait and see if the Sabres can successfully sign Power to a long-term deal from here.
