San Jose Sharks Rumors: Logan Couture Becoming Trade Candidate

The San Jose Sharks finally have traded Erik Karlsson, and now one has to wonder what their next big move will be. It is apparent that they are in a major rebuild, and veteran center Logan Couture makes sense as a trade candidate because of it.

Couture is not getting any younger, as he is 34 years old. When noting that he has yet to win a Stanley Cup, it is reasonable to believe that he would like the chance to play for a contender as he enters the final handful of seasons of his career. He does have a three-team trade list, however, so he would have a lot of control over where he would like to be moved because of it.

On a bad Sharks team during the 2022-23 season, Couture was still quite effective, as he had 27 goals to go along with 67 points. There is no question that a team in need of another top-six center would love to have that kind of production in their lineup, so perhaps more clubs will start calling San Jose about him.

We will need to wait and see if Couture ends up being placed on the trade block from here. The Karlsson trade could be the first major one from San Jose, but time will tell what happens on that front.
