Avalanche Rumors: Former First-Rounder Named Trade Candidate

The Athletic recently published an article discussing one player from each team who could be traded during the 2023-24 season. For the Colorado Avalanche, writer Peter Baugh wrote that Oskar Olausson could be a player who they move before the deadline passes because they are currently in their Stanley Cup window.

Baugh noted that Olausson is a prospect who likely would generate interest from a seller at the deadline. It makes sense, as the 2021 first-round pick has the potential to emerge as a top-six winger later down the road.

Olausson appeared in 63 games last season with the Colorado Eagles, posting 11 goals and 20 points. It was the 20-year-old's first taste of professional hockey in North America. When noting that he has gotten some experience at the AHL level, he's expected to take a major step forward in 2023-24.

We will need to wait and see if the Avalanche end up trading their top prospect during the season from here.
