NHL Rumors: Latest On Paul Stastny Free-Agent Talk

Paul Stastny is one of the most notable free agents still on the market. According to Elliotte Friedman, Stastny is only interested in signing a guaranteed deal and is not interested in signing a professional tryout (PTO) contract.

Stastny, 37, spent last season with the Carolina Hurricanes, where he posted nine goals to go along with 22 points in 73 games. It was a quiet year for him offensively, but that was largely because he had a bottom-six role with the Hurricanes.

Stastny has the potential to get a league-minimum deal before the start of the season. This is because he's still a solid NHLer who also has a plethora of overall experience.

We will need to wait and see if Stastny is able to find a home before the start of training camp from here. With that, let's see if he changes his mind and takes on a PTO if a guaranteed offer does not come his way soon.
