Jets Rumors: Latest On Nino Niederreiter's Future In Winnipeg
According to Scott Billeck, forward Nino Niederreiter wants to sign a contract extension with the Winnipeg Jets rather than test the free-agent market this offseason.
Niederreiter was acquired by the Jets before the 2023 Trade Deadline passed from the Nashville Predators and has been a fantastic fit ever since. This season Niederreiter has especially found success, as he has five goals to go along with nine points in 11 games played. This, of course, could help his chances of landing a new deal from the Jets during the season. Clearly, he meshes well with their current roster.
Niederreiter is a strong middle-six forward who provides solid secondary scoring to go along with some grit. This is what makes him a valuable asset to the Jets’ roster, and it will be very intriguing to see if he lands himself a new contract from them because of it. Given his clear interest in staying put, it certainly seems likely that the two parties will get something done.
