Dallas Stars Provide Injury Update for Jake Oettinger

The Dallas Stars will be without their top goalie for a bit, as head coach Pete DeBoer told reporters that Jake Oettinger will be out week-to-week due to a lower-body injury.

Oettinger left his last appearance for the Stars due to this injury on Dec. 15 against the Ottawa Senators. Now, we know that he is going to miss some time, and that is certainly not ideal news for a Stars team looking to get ahead in the Central Division standings.

Oettinger has had a season of mixed results in 2023-24, as he currently has a .901 save percentage (SV%) to go along with a 2.93 goals-against average (GAA) in 21 appearances. Although his play has been somewhat shaky for his standards, he also still has a solid 11-7-2 record.

We will now need to wait and see how well the Stars perform without their top goalie while he is out from here.
