Insider: 2 More Predators Defenseman Becoming Trade Candidates

We all know about Tyson Barrie's disconnect with the Nashville Predators and his desire to move on. But now comes the suggestion that two more blueliners will be considered for trade.

Insider Elliotte Friedman appeared on 102.5 The Game in Nashville and speculated that both Dante Fabbro and/or Alex Carrier could be dealt as well.

Both defensemen have been healthy scratches on numerous occasions this season, Fabbro six times and Carrier four times. Fabbro has 7 points in 25 games, with a plus-4 in 17:25 ice time per game. Carrier has a goal and nine assists with a plus-2 in 29 games in 18 minutes a night.

"The fact that (Carrier's) not permanently in the lineup says to me they’re not sure (about their lineup in general right now). But one, if not two of these guys, I think, are eventually going to end up going," said Friedman.

Fabbro, the former first-round pick is just 25, but it appears that he seems like the one more likely to go, as he doesn't really fit in head coach Andrew Brunette's system, and leads the Preds in defensive zone giveaways.

“Dante Fabbro is a guy who has not been in the lineup all the time,” Friedman said. “I don’t know that he’s asked for a trade, but I know what young people are like, and in those kinds of situations, it’s probably a lot of ‘If I’m not going to play, please send me somewhere that I can.’"

Roster freezes are in effect until Dec. 28th, but after that, it'll be two+ months of plenty of trade speculation on the Nashville blueline.
