Jesse Puljujarvi Signs PTO With Metro Team

Forward Jesse Puljujarvi has signed a professional tryout contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins, as announced by the team.

It was recently reported that Puljujarvi was cleared for contact, so the expectation was that interest in his services would start to increase. Now, the former top prospect has landed a PTO with the Penguins, and his hope is to officially earn himself a contract for the season from here.

Puljujarvi had double hip surgery during the offseason and has a long road to recovery. Yet, he now is good enough for this PTO, and it will be fun to see if he lands a contract with the Pens from here.

With the Penguins having a very rough stretch of play, it makes sense that they are considering their options and taking a look at Puljujarvi.

In 75 games this past season with the Edmonton Oilers and Carolina Hurricanes, the 25-year-old winger had five goals, 16 points, and a minus-13 rating.
