Red Wings Rumors: Insider Says Patrick Kane Could Be Moved At Deadline

The Detroit Red Wings were the big winners of the Patrick Kane sweepstakes, but that does not automatically mean he will end the season with the Original Six club. According to Pierre LeBrun, the Red Wings could move Kane at the trade deadline if they are no longer in a playoff spot at that time.

LeBrun noted that Kane and Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman discussed all potential avenues with Kane before he inked his deal.

At the time of this writing, the Red Wings have a strong 12-7-3 record and are fourth in the Atlantic Division. They are continuing to stay competitive in the deep Atlantic Division, and the hope is that Kane will only make them better once he officially begins playing in games.

In 73 games this past season split between the Chicago Blackhawks and New York Rangers, the future Hall of Famer had 21 goals to go along with 57 points.

We will now need to wait and see how Detroit does from here. If they start losing often, don't be surprised if Kane is dealt by the deadline.
