San Jose Sharks & Vancouver Canucks Complete Trade

The Vancouver Canucks have traded forward Jack Studnicka to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for defenseman Nick Cicek and a 2024 sixth-round pick.

This marks the second season in a row where Studnicka has been traded. The Boston Bruins moved him to Vancouver after he failed to become a full-time NHL player for them. With the Canucks, he was unable to take that next step in development, and he bounced between the AHL and NHL this season. Now, with this move to San Jose, he should get more chances at the NHL level.

As for Cicek, the Canucks are adding to their defensive depth with this move. The 23-year-old appeared in his first 16 NHL games last season with the Sharks, posting four assists, 15 penalty minutes, and a minus-7 rating. He could be a call-up candidate for when injuries arise.

Overall, this is a small move between the two clubs. Let's see how these two players perform with their new teams from here.
