2 Calgary Flames Placed On Waivers

The Calgary Flames have some roster moves, placing forward Adam Ruzicka and defenseman Nick Desimone on waivers.

Out of the pair, Ruzicka is certainly the bigger name. The 24-year-old forward has struggled this season, posting just three goals and six assists in 39 games this campaign. However, he also notably had 20 points in 44 games for the Flames just last season. As a result, there absolutely could be a team out there willing to take on him.

Ruzicka's ability to play down the middle and on the wing could also lead to clubs considering him. With that, he is also still young, has good upside, and is 6-foot-4.

Ruzicka's cap hit is also at only $762,500, so he is very easily affordable. Because of this, it would not be surprising if he is claimed.

As for Desimone, he has appeared in 23 games this season with the Flames, where he has one goal, four assists, and a minus-4 rating. Teams looking for a little bit of depth on defense could consider taking a flier on him. If not, he will join the Calgary Wranglers and be a notable part of their blue line.

We will now need to wait and see if either of these two players end up finding new homes from the waiver wire from here.
