Blue Jackets Rumors: GM Listening to Offers for Big-Name Players

The Columbus Blue Jackets are gearing up to be one of the NHL's sellers at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. It is entirely understandable, as they are among the league's worst teams. Some players who have come up as trade candidates include Andrew Peeke, Elvis Merzlikins, Adam Boqvist, Jake Bean, and Jack Roslovic. However, now there is some buzz surrounding some of their other players.

In the latest installment of TSN's Insider Trading, Darren Dreger reported that the Blue Jackets are willing to hear offers for winger Patrik Laine and defenseman Ivan Provorov. He also added that there is interest in forward Boone Jenner, but it is unlikely that they would be eager to move on from him.

Laine has come up in the rumor mill at times this season, and this is only the latest example of that. However, Provorov is a new name to pay attention to. The skilled defenseman was added by the Blue Jackets just this past offseason, but now it seems that the Blue Jackets are at least open to seeing what they could get for him if they elected to move him.

While this does not mean that the Blue Jackets will surely trade Laine and/or Provorov, they are players who we should keep an eye on from here.
