Islanders Rumors: 3 Potential Landing Spots for Oliver Wahlstrom

New York Islanders forward Oliver Wahlstrom has been picking up a ton of steam as a trade candidate in the trade rumor mill. This is because he is having a tough season with the Islanders, and his playing time has dropped off because of it. Due to this, it seems quite possible that the young forward will be dealt before March 8. Let's now discuss three teams who could consider taking a chance on him now.

Anaheim Ducks: The Anaheim Ducks are in a prime position to take a chance on a young forward with upside like Wahlstrom. While he has not blossomed into a high-impact forward at the NHL level at this stage of his career, perhaps he could if he joined a rebuilding team like the Ducks and got more playing time.

San Jose Sharks: The San Jose Sharks are another team who could take a shot on Wahlstrom. Like Anaheim, they are in the middle of a big rebuild and should be taking chances on young forwards like Wahlstrom. He would fit in their middle six if acquired and would also likely get power-play time in the process.

Chicago Blackhawks: The Chicago Blackhawks have been dealing with injury trouble all season, so they could be on the hunt for a young forward like Wahlstrom at the trade deadline. There is no question that he would have a bigger role there than he does now with the Islanders, and that could help him take that next step in his development.
