Kraken Rumors: 2 Defensemen Viewed as Trade Candidates
The Seattle Kraken are a very interesting team to watch in the trade market. After a disastrous start to the season, the Kraken went on a nine-game winning streak and got themselves back into the playoff race. However, they now have been running into some struggles, losing each of their last three games. Because of this, they are now sixth in the Pacific Division and do not hold a wild card spot.
Due to their placement in the standings, it is quite possible that they will be sellers at the deadline if they do not start putting together some more wins. If they do elect to sell, NHL insider Frank Seravalli argued they could listen to offers for defensemen Adam Larsson and Jamie Oleksiak.
The #NHL’s Western Conference is a legit meat grinder. Three really good teams are going to be out in Round 1.

What is the top deadline objective for all 16 teams in the West?

Seravalli noted that Larsson and Oleksiak's trade values are probably at their highest levels, so it may be an avenue worth exploring. When noting that each can play top-four minutes, have size, and are defensively reliable, they would be hot commodities if officially made available leading up to the deadline.
The Kraken do not need to rush a move centering around these two defensemen, however, as they each are under contract for multiple seasons. Yet, if they get big offers for one or both of them, they may be wise to at least consider it.
We will now need to wait and see if either of these two defensemen get moved before the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline passes from here.
