Red Wings' Lalonde Provides Injury Update for Patrick Kane

Detroit Red Wings star forward Patrick Kane suffered an injury against the Toronto Maple Leafs, and now we have been given an update from Red Wings head coach Derek Lalonde regarding him. The Red Wings' bench boss shared that Kane will not be available for the team's two remaining road trip games.

Kane's lower-body injury is not on the hip he had surgery on during the offseason, so one major risk has been avoided. However, we will now have confirmation that he will not play for at least the next two games, and the hope is that he will be good to go once the team is back in Detroit.

This is certainly some bad news for the Red Wings, as Kane has been excellent since joining the team earlier this season. In 19 games for the Original Six club, he currently has seven goals to go along with 16 points.

With the Red Wings aiming to climb in the standings to improve their playoff chances, being without Kane is certainly not good news. If he ends up missing more than just these next two games, that certainly will negatively impact their forward group.

We will now need to wait and see how much time Kane misses from here. Here's to hoping that he has a speedy recovery.
