Golden Knights Rumors: 3 Possible Suitors for Noah Hanifin This Summer

The Vegas Golden Knights made a big splash at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline when they acquired Noah Hanifin from the Calgary Flames. He has fit in well with the Golden Knights so far, posting four assists in his first six games. However, when noting that he is a pending UFA looking for his payday, it is not guaranteed that he will stay put. Let's go over three possible suitors for him.

Vegas Golden Knights: After giving up a lot to land him, the Golden Knights are going to work their hardest to avoid losing Hanifin through free agency. Losing a skilled top-four defenseman who plays a steady all-around game would be tough for Vegas, so look for them to try to get him re-signed.

Boston Bruins: The Boston Bruins have had Hanifin on their radar since the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. They will surely target him if he hits the free-agent market this summer. This is especially so when noting that both Matt Grzelcyk and Derek Forbort are pending UFAs. Thus, they will be on the hunt for help on the left side of their defense.

Tampa Bay Lightning: The Tampa Bay Lightning were heavily linked to Hanifin at the deadline. Word came out that the Bolts were his preferred trade destination, too. Thus, with Hanifin making it clear that he wanted to play in Tampa, they are likely going to look to add him if he hits the market. However, they will need to get creative to fit him in financially.
