John Tortorella Calls Out Flyers After Losing to Bottom-Feeding Blackhawks

The Philadelphia Flyers didn't show up against the dismal Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday night, putting a huge damper in their playoff hopes. Head coach John Tortorella was not happy after the game, calling out his team for hitting rock bottom.

Torts, who is never shy on words, talked to the media after the game and had this to say:

We sucked tonight. We didn't execute, we didn't make one play. ... I think we hit the bottom tonight here. Maybe that needs to happen for us to get back into it. We're certainly making it interesting here. We've gotta try to figure it out. They're all big games now.

The Flyers lost 5-1 to the lottery-bound Blackhawks and now sit in the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference, just two points up on the Detroit Red Wings, who have a game in hand and five points up on the New York Islanders. The Flyers have seven games left in their regular season. They've gone 3-5-2 in their past 10 games, meanwhile have been leapfrogged by the Washington Capitals who are getting hot at the right time.

Torts admitted after the game he can see how tired some players are getting as the season winds down and mentioned the likes of Cam York and Travis Sanheim are 'running on fumes'.

The Flyers next opponent are the Islanders on Monday in what's become a must-win game for Philly. If the team doesn't show up, expect to hear much of the same from their head coach, who often doesn't like to take any accountability for how his team performs.
