Red Wings Rumors: 3 Offseason Suitors for Shayne Gostisbehere

Shayne Gostisbehere has been a nice addition to the Detroit Red Wings' roster this season. The offensive defenseman has produced well from the point, posting 10 goals and 47 points in 70 games thus far. While he has had a good season, he is a pending UFA and could hit the market. If he does not get a deal from Detroit, here are three teams who are likely to target him this offseason.

Florida Panthers: The Florida Panthers could be on the hunt for defense help this offseason. Brandon Montour, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, and Dmitry Kulikov are all pending UFAs. If the Cats lose one of or both Montour and OEL specifically, they will need to add an offensive defenseman, and Gostisbehere stands out. He is also a Florida native, which adds to his appeal.

Carolina Hurricanes: The Carolina Hurricanes are another team to watch when it comes to Gostisbehere. He worked well as a rental there in 2022-23, and they could look to bring him in this summer because of it. Brady Skjei, Tony DeAngelo, Brett Pesce, and Jaylen Chatfield are all pending UFAs for them.

Washington Capitals: The Washington Capitals are likely going to try to add to their blue line this offseason. They would benefit by adding a high-impact offensive d-man to their group, so if Gostisbehere hits the market, expect the Caps to be in the mix.
