Florida Panthers' 3 Best Contracts of 2023-24

The Florida Panthers have gotten contributions from throughout their lineup this season with a number of players on solid contracts. This team is Stanley Cup contenders this season and wouldn't be where they are without these three players on the best contracts on the team this season.

Gustav Forsling

Gustav Forsling has been a great story for the Panthers as he was claimed on waivers in 2021. Since then he has turned that into a three-year deal and now an eight-year deal starting next season. He has put up at least 35 points in his past three seasons and has been very reliable and consistent when there have been a lot of moving pieces on the back-end for the Panthers. Forsling is in the final year of a three-year, $2.67 million AAV deal and has played on the top pairing all season, recording the most points among Florida defenders.

Sam Reinhart

Sam Reinhart became a 50-goal scorer recently and in a contract year no less. He has been undervalued and underrated throughout his career and when goals haven't come easy for everyone on the Panthers, everything he touches seems to find the back of the net. His cap hit is only $6.5 million AAV this season. While it isn't cheap, there are only three players who have hit 50 goals this season and he's one of them. He is averaging the most ice time among the Panthers forwards by 40 seconds and has 87 points in 76 games.

Carter Verhaeghe

The Panthers were able to sign Carter Verheaghe before he really broke out and it was a fair deal at the time, until he outplayed it immediately. Verhaeghe has a cap hit of only $4.166 million AAV for another year after this one and has 33 goals to go along with 71 points in 75 games. He is a very underrated scorer and without a doubt a very good top-six forward in the NHL. His scoring shouldn't slow down anytime soon either.
