Vatrano A Possibility To Return To Bruins Next Season

The Anaheim Ducks have a tendency to wait until their pending UFAs are in the final year of their deals before choosing to move them. This was the case for Adam Henrique last season and seems to be what might happen with Frank Vatrano.

The Ducks' winger was interviewed on Spittin' Chiclets Podcast and noted that he loves it in Anaheim, but also that he wishes he played in Boston later in his career when he had things more figured out. This could definitely be seen as a hint at where one of his top options will be in free agency in a year if he makes it there.

Seeing as the Bruins will have lots of space this offseason to work with and add pieces, there may be a slight chance the Ducks and Bruins hook up for a trade. What is more likely is that the Bruins look to add a piece like Vatrano at the trade deadline next season and bring him in, only to potentially sign him to a contract before becoming a free agent. While Vatrano mentions that he likes the warm weather and has really enjoyed his time in Florida and Anaheim, he was born in Massachusetts and seems like he wants to return home to play for his hometown team once more at this stage of his career.
