Bruins Rumors: 3 Offseason Suitors for Kevin Shattenkirk

Kevin Shattenkirk had a solid season for the Boston Bruins. He proved to be an effective depth defenseman for them, but with the Bruins looking to make some serious splashes this offseason due to their cap space, there is an expectation that he will not return. As a result, let's discuss three teams that could look to add the veteran defender this offseason now.

Carolina Hurricanes: The Carolina Hurricanes have several right-shot defensemen who can hit the free agent market this July. Due to this, they could consider looking at a player like Shattenkirk. He would be an option for their bottom pairing and power play if signed because of his offensive contributions.

New York Islanders: The New York Islanders could look to add Shattenkirk for depth. There is no question that they would benefit by adding to their offense, and Shattenkirk could help with that from the point. On a cheap one-year deal, it would be worth considering for the Islanders.

Florida Panthers: The Florida Panthers could also aim to improve their defensive depth this offseason. They have multiple free agent defensemen and could be forced to make some additions if they lost them. Shattenkirk could perform well with the Panthers, as he would have several high-impact forwards to pass the puck to.
