Kings Rumors: Arthur Kaliyev Named Top Trade Candidate
For much of the 2023-24 season, Los Angeles Kings forward Arthur Kaliyev was in the rumor mill. It was understandable, as the young forward took a step backward this season and fell down the Kings' depth chart because of it. While a move during the season did not come to fruition, that has the potential to change this summer.
Because of this, in Daily Faceoff's latest Trade Targets board, NHL insider Frank Seravalli ranked Kaliyev at the No. 7 spot for players who could find new homes this offseason.
Kaliyev, 22, should generate plenty of interest around the league this offseason. While he had a down year in 2023-24, he has the tools to blossom into a top-six forward and has shown signs of great promise in the past. For example, back in 2022-23, he had 13 goals to go along with 28 points in 56 games played.
The 2023-24 campaign was an entirely different story for Kaliyev, however, as he had just seven goals and eight assists in 51 games. It was a tough year for the youngster, and a change of scenery is certainly needed at this juncture.
Look for clubs like the Chicago Blackhawks, Montreal Canadiens, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Washington Capitals to have the skilled winger on their radars this summer.
