Senators Rumors: 3 Defense Free Agent Targets

The Ottawa Senators are likely going to look to improve their defense this offseason. It an area that needs to get better if they hope to take a big step forward in 2024-25 and finally break their playoff drought. As a result, let’s take a look at three defensemen who the Senators could look to sign this offseason from now.

Brandon Montour: If the Senators want to make a major splash on their blueline, Brandon Montour should get their attention. The Florida Panthers defenseman would give their top four a significant boost, as he produces well offensively and is also good defensively.

Sean Walker: Sean Walker could get the attention of the Senators this offseason. Walker had a strong regular season split between the Philadelphia Flyers and Colorado Avalanche, showing that he can be a true top-four defenseman. As a result, it would not be surprising in the slightest if the Senators had him on their radar.

Tyler Myers: Tyler Myers is another notable pending UFA who could be a good addition to the Senators’ roster. The veteran defenseman has had a nice bounce-back year with the Vancouver Canucks. Along with that, he would give the Senators an experienced defender to help mentor their younger players.
