NHL Rumors: 3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations For Canucks' Pius Suter

Pius Suter, Vancouver Canucks

The Vancouver Canucks had a disappointing 2024-25 season, but Pius Suter was certainly a bright spot for them. In 81 games this campaign, he posted new career highs with 25 goals and 46 points.

After a strong season like this, Suter should generate plenty of interest if he hits the free-agent market on July 1. With this, let's look at three specific teams who could target him this off-season.

Colorado Avalanche

The Avalanche could be on the hunt for help down the middle this off-season, especially if Brock Nelson ends up signing elsewhere on July 1. A player like Suter could grab their attention, as he provides solid secondary offensive production and kills penalties. Thus, he could be exactly the kind of player they look to add to their middle six.

Columbus Blue Jackets

The Blue Jackets could be a team to watch if Suter ends up becoming a free agent this summer. The Blue Jackets took a nice step forward this season and will likely be aggressive this off-season because of it. Bringing in a player like Suter would greatly improve their top nine, especially when noting that he can play both down the middle and on the wing.

Montreal Canadiens

Suter could also be a player who interests the Canadiens this off-season. They need help at center, and Suter could nicely on either their second or third line if signed. Furthermore, he would also give them another option for their penalty kill.
