NHL Rumors: 3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations For Kyle Palmieri
New York Islanders forward Kyle Palmieri is a pending unrestricted free agent and will hit the market on July 1 if the Metropolitan Division club does not re-sign him by then. With former GM Lou Lamoriello no longer with the Islanders organization, questions have arisen about Palmieri's future with the club.
If Palmieri does become a free agent, these are three teams who could end up making a push for the veteran winger.
Los Angeles Kings
The Kings could be a team to watch if Palmieri ends up hitting the free-agent market. They certainly could use a boost at the right wing position, and signing a veteran like Palmieri would help them on that front. When looking at their roster, he could work well in their middle six and on their power play.
New Jersey Devils
The Devils would be another team to keep an eye on if Palmieri becomes a free agent. They are set to revamp their roster this offseason, and Palmieri would give them some much-needed secondary scoring if signed. Furthermore, he had a strong stint with them in the past, so they could be open to bringing him back.
New York Rangers
The Rangers could also end up being a suitor for Palmieri this summer. They should be on the hunt for help on the wing, and Palmieri would provide them with an upgrade to their top nine on that front. He would also give them another weapon for their power play.
