NHL Rumors: 3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations For Gustav Nyquist
Gustav Nyquist is a veteran forward who can hit the free-agent market on July 1. The 35-year-old winger had a quiet year for his standards, posting 11 goals and 28 points in 79 games split between the Nashville Predators and Minnesota Wild.
Yet, when noting that he had 75 points in 81 games with Nashville just back in 2023-24, he should generate interest in free agency as a bounce-back candidate. Thus, let's look at three teams who could look to sign him.
Tampa Bay Lightning
The Lightning could be a team to watch if Nyquist hits the free-agent market this summer. They need more depth offensive production, and Nyquist could give them just that if he bounces back. Furthermore, Nyquist would also likely love the opportunity to play for a talented club like the Bolts.
New Jersey Devils
The Devils should be looking to improve their middle six this offseason, so bringing in a forward like Nyquist could interest them. He could slot nicely on their third line but also could move up in the lineup if needed. Furthermore, he would give them another skilled forward for their power play.
Vegas Golden Knights
The Golden Knights would have the potential to be a great landing spot for Nyquist. They should be aiming to improve their forward depth this offseason and could use more depth scoring. Thus, bringing in a player like Nyquist for their middle six could be great for Vegas.
