NHL Rumors: 3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations For Mason Appleton

The Winnipeg Jets are entering the summer with multiple pending free agents, and forward Mason Appleton is one of them. The Jets certainly could look to keep him around, but if he becomes a free agent on July 1, look for these three teams to make a push to sign him.

Washington Capitals

The Capitals could very well look to bring in a player like Appleton this season. It is fair to argue that they could use an upgrade at right wing in their bottom six, and Appleton would provide them with just that. In addition, he would give them another option to work with for their power play.

Chicago Blackhawks

The Blackhawks need to improve their top nine this offseason if they hope to take a step forward next season. When noting that Appleton is a solid two-way forward who can provide decent secondary offensive production when playing at his best, he could be a great fit on a Blackhawks team looking to improve.

Vegas Golden Knights

The Golden Knights could be another team to keep an eye on when it comes to Appleton. When looking at their roster, Appleton could fit very nicely on their third line with Ivan Barbashev and William Karlsson. In addition, he would give them a bit more grit, which is always a plus for a playoff club to have.
