NHL Rumors: 3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations For Jonathan Drouin

Jonathan Drouin, Colorado Avalanche

Jonathan Drouin should be a popular target if he hits the free-agent market on July 1. While the 30-year-old was limited to only 43 games this season with the Colorado Avalanche, he was very solid, posting 11 goals and 37 points. This is after he had 19 goals and 56 points in 79 contests the previous season with Colorado.

If Drouin does become a free agent this summer, these three clubs will need to be watched in the sweepstakes.

Vegas Golden Knights

After losing to the Edmonton Oilers in just five games in the second round, the Golden Knights will likely be looking to make changes to their forward group this summer. Drouin could grab their attention, as it is no secret that they liked skilled players in their top six. Adding Drouin would give them just that.

Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks need to focus on bringing in more offensive players this summer, so they could consider targeting Drouin if he hits the market. When looking at their group, Drouin could be a nice fit on their second line. Furthermore, he would give them another playmaker to work with on their power play.

Chicago Blackhawks

The Blackhawks should be aiming to improve their forward group this off-season, especially with star youngster Connor Bedard needing more support. With this, a player like Drouin could make sense for them. He would be an obvious choice for their power play and could also slot well in their top six.
