"I think that Rick Tocchet has the coaching world eating out of the palm of his hand, and I think that he will have multiple mega offers that are game changers for the coaching pay scale," says Seravalli.
Tocchet has interview with 2 teams so far
"I think he's interviewed and been offered (the job) in Seattle. I think he's interviewed with the Flyers... I think the Pittsburgh Penguins are interested, (and) I think the Boston Bruins are interested."
Other reports that emerged on Thursday had one of those teams as the frontrunner.
Seravalli even adds that some of those organizations won't move on in their coaching search until they get an answer from Tocchet.
What will Rick Tocchet earn on his new coaching contract?
Finally, the insider projects what Tocchet's massive new contract will look like:
I'm going to project that Rick Tocchet is on at least a five-year deal, and north of $6 million per year.
Depending on how much "north" of $6M, that would bring him pretty close to the reported record-breaking $6.5 million AAV deal that Mike Sullivan just got with the New York Rangers.
In a nine-year NHL coaching career, the 61-year-old has compiled a 286-265-87 record, but in the past three seasons with the Canucks, he led the team to a 108-65-27 mark for a .608 points percentage.
