Rick Tocchet Rumors: Latest Update Has 3 Teams In the Running, Decision Imminent
A Rick Tocchet decision on his next coaching destination is imminent. The former Vancouver Canucks head coach, who parted ways with the team a couple of weeks back, is believed to be considering three teams at this point, and according to insider Darren Dreger, there are "strong indications" that a resolution is coming "soon."
Strong indications this week Rick Tocchet will soon land another NHL head coaching job. Philly, Boston, Seattle believed to be among the top contenders. The Flyers want to be aggressive. Good fit.

Dreger names the Philadelphia Flyers, Boston Bruins and Seattle Kraken as the leading contenders for Tocchet's services.
Flyers, Bruins and Kraken are the top contenders to land Rick Tocchet
The Flyers connection has long been made, as Tocchet was a star player for the team for 11 seasons, and personifies the Flyers' personality. Philly moved on from John Tortorella near the end of the regular season after he essentially admitted he didn't like coaching a struggling team in a rebuild.
Thomas Drance of The Athletic thinks the Flyers are the betting favorite. "They are poised to improve the most rapidly."
The Bruins have also been said to be a very strong candidate to land Tocchet, as multiple insiders said last week that Boston is a frontrunner. "Tocchet is their guy, and I think he’d be interested,” said Marco D'Amico of rg.org.
As for Seattle, "that roster is so set up to play Rick Tocchet hockey — you've got a good starting goaltender in Joey Daccord, you've got a deep defensive core, speed down the middle and a bunch of defensive-minded wingers," said Drance.
A decision is apparently coming this week.
