NHL Free Agency Rumors: Maple Leafs Eyeing Pending UFA Bottom-Six Forward
He's coming off a middle-six salary, but is more generally a bottom-six forward. But with regular double-digit goal production, pending unrestricted free agent Andrew Mangiapane of the Washington Capitals will have some suitors on the market, not the least of which, the Toronto Maple Leafs.
As @thefourthperiod reported in his latest column, the Leafs are expected to pursue winger Andrew Mangiapane in free agency.

Can confirm that Mangiapane, who played for Brad Treliving in Calgary, is on Toronto’s list of free agent targets.
As reported by insider David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, both the Leafs and the Seattle Kraken will be in pursuit of the 29-year-old as of July 1. Leafs Morning Take host Nick Alberga confirms that he is a target for the Buds.
The Toronto-born left winger was a sixth-round pick by the Calgary Flames in 2015, but he has developed himself into a solid secondary scorer, finding the net anywhere from 14 to 17 times in each of the last six seasons, with one outlier: a 35-goal breakout in 2021-22.
That earned him the three-year, $17.4 million deal with Calgary ($5.8M AAV) that just expired. He's projected by AFP Analytics to pull in a two-year deal with a $3.8M cap hit, which is more suitable to his spot in the lineup.
The Maple Leafs are in great need of adding some scoring to the bottom six, and GM Brad Treliving is familiar with Mangiapane, as he's the one who handed him his last contract while both were in Calgary.
The player recently changed agents, so Treliving should expect negotiations to be different this time around.
The Kraken have already added Mason Marchment and Joe Veleno for their forward corps this offseason, and will still be looking to do more.
