NHL Rumors: 3 Teams Interested In Kraken's Jared McCann
Seattle Kraken forward Jared McCann was a popular trade target leading up to the 2025 NHL trade deadline. While he ended up staying put in Seattle for the remainder of the season, he finds himself right back in the rumor mill with the summer now here.
McCann is starting to generate trade interest, too. According to The Fourth Period, the Vancouver Canucks, Ottawa Senators, and New York Rangers are all linked to the Kraken forward.
The Canucks certainly know McCann well, as he was selected by them with the 24th overall pick of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, and he played his first NHL season there in 2015-16. With the Canucks clearly needing more scoring, it is understandable that they are open to bringing back this McCann. This will be even more of the case if Brock Boeser leaves this summer.
The Senators have been on the hunt for a top-six forward, so it is easy to see why they are going after McCann. If they acquired him, he would certainly give their forward group a boost and could be a perfect fit on their second line with Dylan Cozens and Drake Batherson.
The Rangers eyeing McCann is understandable, too, as their top six needs a major boost. Chris Kreider is expected to be on the move, too, so the Rangers will need to replace him. When looking at New York's lineup, McCann could slot very nicely on their second line with J.T. Miller and Alexis Lafreniere.
