NHL Rumors: Ottawa Senators & Los Angeles Kings Linked To Potential Trade

Jordan Spence, LA Kings

The Ottawa Senators are expected to have a busy offseason after getting back into the playoffs this year. One area that they are aiming to improve is the right side of their defense, and they are now being connected to an interesting defenseman because of it.

According to The Fourth Period, the Senators are currently linked to Los Angeles Kings defenseman Jordan Spence.

Spence is no stranger to the rumor mill, as his name has come up as a trade candidate before. Now, he is once again creating chatter, and it is easy to understand why the Senators are reportedly interested. This is because Spence is a promising 24-year-old defenseman coming off a very solid year with the Kings.

In 79 games this campaign with the Pacific Division club, Spence set new career highs with four goals, 24 assists, 28 points, 80 hits, and a plus-23 rating. With numbers like these, Spence could be a great addition to the Senators' top four. In addition, he would be a clear option for their power play because of his ability to provide offense from the point.

It will be interesting to see if the Kings and Senators end up striking a deal centering around Spence from here. He would be a very strong pickup for the Senators and could give them a much-needed boost on their blueline.
