Blackhawks Sign Frank Nazar To Big Contract Extension

According to NHL insider Frank Seravalli, the Chicago Blackhawks have signed forward Frank Nazar to a seven-year contract with an average annual value (AAV) of just under $6.6 million. His new contract extension will kick in during the 2026-27 season.

With Nazar expected to be a big part of the Blackhawks' future, it is not particularly surprising to see them lock him up to a long-term deal early. The 21-year-old center has shown promise early on in his career, and if he blossoms into an impactful top-six center, his contract extension could age wonderfully as time passes by.

Nazar appeared in 53 games this past season with the Blackhawks, where he set new career highs with 12 goals, 14 assists, and 26 points. This was after Nazar played in his first three NHL games with the Blackhawks during the 2023-24 season, where he had one goal.

Nazar noticeably improved as the 2024-25 season rolled on, too, as he finished the campaign with three goals and five points in his final three games of the year. Now, he will look to build off his solid 2024-25 campaign after landing this big contract extension from the Blackhawks.

Nazar was selected by the Blackhawks with the 13th overall pick of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
