3 Potential Landing Spots for Utah's Connor Ingram
Connor Ingram needs a new home.
The veteran goaltender did not attend day one of training camp for the Utah Mammoth and was put on waivers by the team, and expect to see him traded before the start of the new season. The 28-year-old netminder has one season left on his deal at $1.95 million, and is coming off a tough season, appearing in just 22 games for Utah, posting a 9-8-4 record, along with a 3.27 goals against average.
Ingram's best season statistically was back in 2023-24 in Arizona, when he collected a 23-21-3 record, with a .907 save percentage, and 2.91 GAA. Ingram won the Masterton Trophy, which recognizes the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey, for the 2023-24 season.
Ingram re-entered the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program last season, after spending time in the program back in 2021. Utah's GM Bill Armstrong wants what's best for his goaltender, which admittedly could be likely on another roster.
“We’ll at some point in time put him through waivers, and through that process, he will either get a chance to play for another NHL team, or he will go to an [American Hockey League] team,” Armstrong said. “But at the end of the day, he will be playing, and that's what we're so excited for.”

Armstrong says they plan to eventually place him on waivers.
As far as potential landing spots for Ingram, don't be surprised to see the Edmonton Oilers, Carolina Hurricanes, or Washington Capitals get involved, as each team could use an experienced third goaltender, who could push for starts, and fill in should an injury go down among their top two starters.
