NHL Rumors: Calgary Flames Already Making Trade Calls
With the league’s worst goals per game and a 1.5 clip dragging them to the bottom of the table, general manager Craig Conroy has begun working the phones for immediate offensive help. It is early, and most clubs are still in wait mode, yet Calgary is pushing to get an early read on what is available and what it might cost.
LeBrun on Insider Trading says Leafs, Detroit, Florida, Buffalo and the Flames have all checked in and kicked tires on Yegor Chinakhov. CBJ are not interested in just dumping him, they are not looking for draft picks, they want a hockey deal.

Conroy’s search for goals is underway
Multiple teams have checked on Yegor Chinakhov, who asked out of Columbus after limited usage. Calgary is expected to be among the callers. Chinakhov comes with team control and a modest cap hit this season.
The Blue Jackets are not looking to dump him for futures. They prefer a true hockey deal and still view him as one injury away from a top nine role. That stance will shape price and timing, but it will not stop the Flames from trying.
David Pagnotta: Re Rasmus Andersson trade rumours: My understanding is his preference is still Vegas and Dallas; but I'm curious the longer this goes if he starts to broaden his options a little bit - Sekeres & Price (10/23)

If scoring does not arrive, seller talk grows
Patience only goes so far when the puck will not go in. League chatter suggests Calgary could pivot to selling if the slide continues.
Rasmus Andersson looms as a premium chip as he nears unrestricted free agency with no extension in place. Nazem Kadri would draw interest as a proven center, though his no movement clause limits any scenario for now. The priority today remains adding finishing, not subtracting leaders. Conroy is probing for middle six juice that can help right away while keeping longer term options open.
Calgary’s goaltending has offered a chance most nights, but even strong saves cannot erase a scoring drought of this size.
