Ingram was placed on waivers by the Mammoth last week, which was expected, but no team put a claim in for him. Yet, he is now getting the change of scenery he was looking for after being traded to the Oilers.
The Oilers were viewed as a prime potential landing spot for Ingram, as it is no secret that they need help between the pipes. They will be hoping that Ingram can provide them with just that after acquiring him from the Mammoth.
Overall, there is no harm in the Oilers bringing in Ingram. At a minimum, he will provide them with more depth at the goaltender position. In addition, it is also a notable plus that the Oilers got Utah to retain some of Ingram's salary in the move.
In 102 career NHL games over four seasons split between the Nashville Predators, Arizona Coyotes, and Utah, Ingram has recorded a 39-44-15 record, a .902 save percentage, a 3.14 goals-against average, and seven shutouts. He also had back-to-back seasons with a .907 save percentage in 2022-23 and 2023-24 with the Coyotes.
