The NHL's last remaining unsigned RFA will get to training camp before the season starts.
Evangelista was still a restricted free agent (RFA) with the regular season just about here. Yet, now Evangelista and the Predators have come to terms on a new contract, which means the young forward will be an option for Nashville's lineup on opening night.
The Predators getting this new deal done with Evangelista is certainly good news, as the 23-year-old winger is emerging as a solid part of their forward group. The Toronto, Ontario native appeared in 68 games this past season with the Predators, where he recorded 10 goals, 22 assists, and 32 points. This was after he set career highs with 16 goals, 23 assists, and 39 points in 80 games with the Predators during the 2023-24 season.
With numbers like these, there is no question that Evangelista is becoming a solid offensive contributor in the NHL. It will now be interesting to see if the 2020 second-round pick can take another step forward with his development after landing this nice new contract extension from here.
In 172 career NHL games over three seasons with the Predators, Evangelista has posted 33 goals, 53 assists, 86 points, and a plus-5 rating.
