The Numbers Are In: Jack Eichel Officially Signs Massive Deal with Vegas

And there it is. The Vegas Golden Knights have officially extended top-line center Jack Eichel for a massive $108 million—a $13.5 million AAV—on an eight-year deal.

The signing will make Eichel the third-highest paid player in the NHL next season, behind the Minnesota Wild's Kirill Kaprizov's $17 million AAV, and the Edmonton Oilers' Leon Draisaitl, at $14 million annually. The extension kicks in for Eichel in 2026-27, after he wraps up the final year on his current $80 million ($10M AAV) deal.

The Golden Knights have had an expensive summer and preseason, after they also pulled off a sign-and-trade for Mitch Marner, and signed the ex-Toronto Maple Leafs star to an eight-year deal at a $12 million cap hit.

But Eichel is 'The Man' in Vegas. He posted a career-high 94 points last season with a personal best plus/minus rating of +32. He led them to the 2023 Stanley Cup title with a sensational playoff run, of 20 assists and 26 points in 22 games with a +14 rating.

In 616 career games, in 10 seasons, Eichel has 239 goals and 608 points. he spent the first six years of his career with the Buffalo Sabres, who made him the 2nd overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.
